Dear Editor,

I am writing to you in response to your magazine's recent article Why We Shouldn't Care about Wonder Woman. In my opinion, the article was written very badly and the facts weren't presented correctly. The author of the article called the new Wonder Woman character "just another pretty superhero", adding, "So what if she can jump higher and move more quickly than other people? The real reason for Wonder Woman's success is her beauty." This is ridiculous, and the author clearly hasn't done any research on the Wonder Woman character.

Wonder Woman first appeared in a 1941 comic book. Her character was created by the psychologist William Moulton Marston.

He wanted to show that women are not inferior to men. This was relevant because until World War II, women had traditionally stayed at home.

But during the war, many men were in the army, so women had to go to work. According to Marston, women could do anything and the world might even be safer with women in control. For this reason, he created Wonder Woman as a role model.

Unfortunately, the film and TV industry didn't believe in women as strongly as Marston did. Until recently, most female superhero characters on the screen weren't as powerful as male superheroes and they had small roles. The new Wonder Woman, played by Gal Gadot, is different.

Finally, girls have got a superhero to feel proud of. Wonder Woman is a character with real emotions. She's hopeful, but also afraid. She can feel sadness and happiness. She's beautiful, but that isn't the focus of the film. The focus is her amazing abilities, as it should be. Hopefully, thanks to Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, we will see many more films with strong female characters in the future.

Yours truly,

Amanda Bright
