Tag Questions
We use tag questions to confirm information (You're dying to answer, aren't you?) or
to emphasize
a point (It wouldn't hurt once in a while
,
would
it?).
To make a statement into a tag question, the subject in the statement and the "tag"
need to correspond.
The verb tenses also need to
correspond.
That quitarist was amazing, wasn't he? You haven't got a very good memory,
have you?
What do you notice about the verbs in bold in the examples above? Complete
the rule below:
If the auxiliary verb in the statement is affirmative, it is
