Camila is a three-year-old girl who lives with her parents and her baby brother in the outskirts of Los Angeles. They are all very friendly people and their neighbours love them for all the charity work they do, and because they are always ready to give a hand to those in need. Last Saturday was an unusual day for Camila, her family and their neighbours. To begin with, it was too hot and there was a power cut at about ten in the morning. To make matters worse, Simon, Camila's baby brother, was running a temperature. So, when Mr and Mrs Benson, Camila's next- door neighbours, invited her to spend the day with them, the little girl was more than happy, especially because the Bensons ave a big swimming pool and a Golden Labrador she loves. When the girl arrived, Mr Benson had already looked for some toys in the garage and had come across a few. He had put them all in the garden, by the swimming pool. While Camila played with the dolls and tea sets that had belonged to Mr and Mrs Benson's daughter, the girl's parents took her baby brother to the local hospital in a taxi because their car had broken down. In the meantime, Mrs Benson got lunch ready while her husband read the newspaper in the living room. Everything was quiet until they heard their dog Mia bark frantically. They both looked through the window and couldn't see Camila, so they ran to the garden. What had happened? Had the dog pushed the girl accidentally into the water? No, of course not. In fact, Mia had jumped into the swimming pool and was making a great effort to keep Camila afloat. Apparently, the girl had fallen into the water and had hit her head, so she was unconscious. Mr Benson got the girl out while his wife made for the mobile phone to ask for help and inform Camila's parents, who arrived after the girl had come round. When the girl saw her parents, she said, 'Are you down? What's the matter with you two? You look so sad?' At that moment, everybody laughed. Before her mum picked Camila up in her arms, she kissed the dog and thanked her for her help, so Mrs Benson promised to let Mia out for a walk with the girl every morning. The bad moment was over and Mia became a heroine in the neighbourhood!
